Organic Cotton Indigo dyed thermals
Organic Cotton Indigo dyed thermals
We are so thrilled to re-introduce our limited collection of hand dyed, organic cotton thermals. Partnering with a natural dye house located in Pennsylvania, our organic cotton thermals make a little stop on their way north after being cut and sewn in small town Tennessee.
With an eye to the natural beauty of their surrounding landscape, the studio’s eco-minded practices echoes our own while allowing us to be able to increase the number of hand dyed garments we can offer at a time. After how quickly Chinatsu Nagamune’s gorgeous dyed thermals went last year, we wanted to find a way to offer more garments, but lessen the impact of this aim and we’re so pleased to have found a way to make it happen.
Like most gardeners, with a focus on making beauty a part of the everyday, we celebrate the process of weathering through wear. Please know these garments will fingerprint a unique fade with wear; please be mindful that natural dyes will fade with greater exposure to acids and sunlight.
One of a kind, limited edition in 2 sleeve lengths: long sleeve and 3/4 length
Pre-washed and shrunk but might gently bleed or carry a slight fermented odor for the first few wears.
Chinatsu is the indigo and textile dyer for codo ceramics + texile. She loves how personal textiles can be. She believes that if you open your mind a little bit, you can make space for textiles in your life in many beautiful and surprising ways. She uses only natural dyes, especially indigo — which is both beautiful as a dye and fascinating as a living organism.
Chinatsu’s dye process stems from her observations of the fabrics she works with as well a constant conversation with her materials and dyes.
Her focus is making textiles that people can enjoy the weathering of. They change and age with time — just like us.
